Leadership Transition: Jeff Returns as Executive Director
A note from Jeff: This spring, I sent out a letter announcing that I was stepping away from my role at the head of Groundwork. In the fall, our two co-executive directors, Forrest Gillies and Keshet Miller, both decided to move on from their positions as their lives were taking them in different directions. A few weeks ago, I returned to my former role as Groundwork’s Executive Director. I want to wish Keshet and Forrest the best of luck in their next endeavors and thank them for everything they put into Groundwork over the years. Both of them have played pivotal roles in building Groundwork into the organization it is today.
Keshet was a co-founder of Groundwork’s western Colorado campus in 2021 and served as co-executive director for most of 2025. She will continue her work as an administrator for NOLS, and is beginning the adventure of parenting. Forrest began helping on Groundwork’s farm in western Colorado in 2023, served as Groundwork’s farm manager for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, and was co-executive director for most of 2025. We are excited to see where Forrest will continue his life’s work with seeds, farming, and land-based education.
